Our origins
WEIR has been operating since 2015 when 5 experts in their fields led by respected barrister Elaine Brus came together to set up a business that would meet the needs of employers facing the difficult and time-consuming task of dealing with employee misconduct, complaints, and conflict.
Over time, our range of services has grown as our client base has come to recognise the depth and value of our expertise. We are trusted by all levels of government as well as the private sector to handle sensitive matters confidentially and expertly. We have consultants and locations on the east coast of Australia but work with clients nationally.
Our services now include:
- Workplace investigations
- Workplace culture reviews
- Employee surveys
- Conflict resolution
- Coaching
- Training
- Team activities and workshops
- Policy, decision and process reviews
Our special expertise
Our consultants have conducted investigations which require special levels of security clearance and clearances to work with children or vulnerable persons. We have conflict resolution consultants with mediation accreditation and coaching qualifications.
We are familiar with the requirements of misconduct investigations within the Australian Public Service, the Department of Defence, State governments and sectors such as health education and sport. We have investigators with Australian Government Negative Vetting security clearance to undertake sensitive government work.
Our clients include many local councils, including those in regional areas and we are eligible for appointment to investigate complaints against staff councillors and other officials.
WEIR investigation reports are prepared using a template format that describes the allegations, enquiries made, collection and analysis of evidence, findings and analysis of allegations. All reports reference relevant legislative and policy considerations and detail the steps taken to ensure procedural fairness.
